Scripts

Publish and share a script

Publishing locks a revision as the official version for your team and prevents edits to it in the script viewer. You can revert to a draft at any time. This article also covers inviting people to the project so they can read and work on your scripts. Only Admins can publish, revert, or invite.

Before you start

  • You have the Admin role (or are the project Owner).
  • A project, episode, and revision are selected in the top bar.

Publish a script

  1. In the script viewer control panel, select Lock & Share.
  2. The Publish Script dialog opens, noting that publishing locks the revision and makes it the official script for the team.
  3. Select Publish Script.

Once published:

  • The control panel button changes to Published, and the script viewer shows a banner: “This script is published. Editing is disabled.”
  • The dialog shows a green check, “This script is published,” and the publication date.
  • Editing is locked in the script viewer for that revision.

Revert to a draft

To make the revision editable again:

  1. Select Published in the control panel to reopen the dialog.
  2. Select Revert to Draft.

The revision returns to draft status and becomes editable again.

Invite people to the project

Sharing your scripts means adding people to the project. Project access is project-wide, not per script.

  1. In the top bar, select Invite (Admin only).
  2. In the Create Invite Link dialog, choose a RoleAdmin, Member, or Viewer — and how long the link stays valid under Link expires after (1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 30 days; 7 days by default).
  3. Select Generate Link.
  4. Select Copy Link and send the link to the person you’re inviting. Use Create Another to generate a second link, or Done to close.

Anyone who opens the link can join the project in the role you chose. What each role can do is set by their role and permissions.
