Reports
Reports overview
The Reports section is where you generate, customize, and distribute production documents — call sheets, sides, the daily production report, day-out-of-days charts, schedules, and more. Reports read your project’s script, breakdown, crew, cast, and schedule data and present it as a printable document. This overview explains how the section is laid out, the difference between snapshot and live reports, and links to each report’s guide.
Before you start
- You have a project selected, with at least one episode and a parsed script.
- For schedule-driven reports (call sheet, one-liner, full fat schedule, DOOD), you have a scenario that is active or locked in the Schedule section. Without one, those reports show an empty state asking you to activate a scenario.
Reports are the most downstream stage
Data in SceneItAll flows one way: Script → Breakdown → Crew, departments, and cast → Schedule → Reports. Reports sit at the end of that chain. Reports do not use the revision selected in Scripts: schedule-driven reports use the chosen episode scenario, and production scene content comes from the latest production-ready revision automatically. Report display preferences are shared by episode and scenario rather than duplicated per revision. Reports read upstream data and present it; they never write back to the script, breakdown, schedule, or crew. The only way to pull newer upstream data into a snapshot report is to refresh it.
A handful of fields live only on the call sheet and are not upstream to anything — general call, special instructions, custom tables, custom notes, section-title overrides, header crew configuration, the selected logos, the accent colour, catering comments, and push-call display overrides. Editing them changes that one call sheet and nothing else. See Create a call sheet.
The hub
The Reports section opens on the hub at /reports, a grid of eight cards — one per report type. Each card has an icon, a title, and a one-line description. Select a card to open that report.
| Card | Description | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Call Sheet | Daily crew logistics, cast calls, and scene schedule | Create a call sheet |
| Sides | Script pages for shooting days | Generate sides |
| Production Report | Daily wrap report with times, scenes, and notes | Fill in a daily production report |
| Day Out of Days | Cast schedule matrix across all shooting days | Read the Day Out of Days report |
| One-Liner | Condensed scene order with key details | Generate a one-liner |
| Department Lists | Filtered breakdown by department | Generate a department list |
| Cast Info Sheet | Per-cast measurements, wardrobe, and prep | Read a cast info sheet |
| Full Fat Schedule | Comprehensive schedule with all breakdown data | Generate a full fat schedule |

The Reports rail
Once you open a report, a left rail stays docked beside it (it collapses to a slide-over drawer on narrow screens). The rail has three parts:
- Project chip — the project thumbnail, name, and the active scenario underneath. A chevron beside it opens the scenario picker, where you switch which scenario every schedule-driven report reads from. Locked scenarios are marked (locked). This is the only place you change scenarios inside Reports.
- Document dropdown — a compact selector to jump between the eight reports without returning to the hub.
- Context panel — the lower part of the rail changes per report. It holds the call sheet’s SECTIONS checklist, the sides reader’s view settings, and the grouping, element-type, or category selector for the one-liner, full fat schedule, DOOD, and department lists.
Shareable addresses
Every report has its own URL, so a view can be bookmarked or shared:
/reports/<report>— the report’s landing or library./reports/<report>?view=<view>— a specific library tab or grouping./reports/<report>/<kind>/<id>— a specific document, for example/reports/call-sheet/sheet/3or/reports/sides/character/<id>.
Snapshot reports versus live reports
Reports come in two kinds, depending on whether the document needs to stay stable while you work on it.
Snapshot reports
Call Sheet, One-Liner, and Full Fat Schedule are snapshot reports. Until you take a snapshot, they show a read-only live preview of current data. When you are ready, you freeze the upstream data into the report:
- The call sheet uses Create Draft.
- The one-liner and full fat schedule use Sync from Schedule.
A snapshot does not change on its own, so a document you have sent to crew never shifts under you. After snapshotting you can edit the report freely, then use Refresh Data to pull newer upstream data in — choosing Preserve My Edits (keep your changes, refresh the rest) or Replace Everything (discard your edits and re-pull). Exporting or sharing a snapshot report uses the snapshotted version; if you have not snapshotted yet, the action asks you to do so first.
Live reports
Sides, Day Out of Days, Department Lists, and Cast Info Sheet are live reports. They always reflect current data — there is nothing to snapshot. Open them and they are up to date.
The daily production report
The Daily Production Report is a per-day document you create and fill in. It pulls the schedule when you create it and offers Refresh from schedule (preserve or replace) to re-pull scheduled scenes later. See Fill in a daily production report.
| Report | Mode |
|---|---|
| Call Sheet | Snapshot — Create Draft, then Refresh Data |
| One-Liner | Snapshot — Sync from Schedule, then Refresh Data |
| Full Fat Schedule | Snapshot — Sync from Schedule, then Refresh Data; supports inline cell editing |
| Daily Production Report | Per-day document — Refresh from schedule |
| Sides | Live — always current |
| Day Out of Days | Live |
| Department Lists | Live |
| Cast Info Sheet | Live |
Variations
The snapshot reports — Call Sheet, One-Liner, and Full Fat Schedule — support named variations for each scope (a call sheet day, a one-liner schedule, a full fat schedule). A version picker at the top of the report shows the active variation and a Manage button. The first snapshot you take is always called Main and is the active variation.
Inside the manage dialog you can create a new variation (seeded as an empty draft, a copy of the active variation, or a fresh snapshot from upstream), activate a variation as the primary one for its scope, and rename or delete a variation. Variations are independent — editing or refreshing one never touches its siblings. See Create a call sheet for a worked example.
The Sides, Day Out of Days, Department Lists, and Cast Info Sheet reports are live and have no variations.
Exporting and sharing
Reports export to PDF, and several also export to XLSX, CSV, or HTML. Each report’s side panel carries its own actions, which may include Export PDF, Print, and Share Link.
To distribute an exported report by email, open Crew → Mailing List. Copy the relevant addresses or open a pre-addressed draft in Gmail, Outlook, or your default mail app, then attach the exported file yourself.
Watermarking exports
You can stamp a project-wide watermark (for example CONFIDENTIAL or the project name and date) across every report — preview, PDF, print, HTML, and spreadsheet exports. It is configured once for the whole project. See Add a watermark to every export.
