Theme and display
SceneItAll runs in a light or dark theme, lets you set the interface language, and adapts its layout to your screen size. This article explains how to switch the theme, change the app language, and what changes at each screen width. Search for “dark mode,” “theme,” “language,” or “interface language” to find it.
Consistent form text
Add and edit forms use one compact typography standard throughout the app. A form’s title is slightly larger than the rest of the form. Field labels, entered values, placeholders, dropdown choices, helper or error messages, section labels, and action buttons all use the same text size.
This applies in both light and dark mode. Screenplay content and printable call-sheet content keep their production-specific typography.
Switch between light and dark mode
To switch the theme, select Toggle theme in the top bar. The button sits near the right end of the bar, just before your avatar. Each select flips between light and dark mode; the whole app — colors, icons, and panels — updates at once.
Your choice is saved in the browser or app on the device you are using, so it stays the same the next time you open SceneItAll there. The theme is a personal display preference: it is not shared with other project members and does not carry to a different device or browser.

Change the app language
The app language sets the language of the interface — buttons, labels, and menus. To change it:
- Select your avatar in the top bar, then choose Profile Settings.
- On the Profile tab, find the Language list.
- Select a language. The interface updates immediately.
The available languages are English USA (marked Original), Ukrainian, Español, Français, and Polski. Like the theme, your language choice is saved on the current device and is not shared with other members.
Interface language is not script translation
Changing the app language only translates SceneItAll’s own interface text. It does not translate your screenplay. To translate a script’s content into another language, use the AI translation feature instead — see Translation.
How the layout adapts to screen size
SceneItAll is responsive: it rearranges navigation and panels based on how wide your window is. You do not configure this — it follows the window width automatically.

On narrow screens, some less-critical table columns are hidden so the most important data still fits.

Per-project display preferences
The theme and language above apply across the whole app. Several views also have their own display settings that change how they look without changing the underlying data. Most are saved for you on your device; a few are shared with the project. Open each view’s settings to see its options:
- Breakdown — row density and which stripboard columns show. See Breakdown overview.
- Strip board — which fields appear on each strip and on the day banners. See Build and read the strip board.
- Script viewer — overlays such as revision highlighting, page eighths, and the header or footer. See Read a script.
