Add a watermark to every export

The export watermark stamps a line of text — for example CONFIDENTIAL, the project name, or the date — across every report your project produces. It appears on the on-screen preview, on every downloaded PDF and HTML file, on the printed page, and as a note on spreadsheet (Excel/CSV) exports. It is a single project-wide setting: turn it on once and it applies everywhere, for everyone on the project.

Before you start

• You have a project selected.
• You are an owner or admin. Members and viewers can see the watermark settings but cannot change them.

Open the watermark settings

1. Open Settings (the gear icon).
2. Go to the Reports → Export watermark panel.

Turn the watermark on

1. Toggle Enable watermark on exports.
2. Type the watermark text. You can use these tokens, which are filled in automatically when a report is generated:
   • {project} — the project name
   • {date} — the date the report is exported
   • {user} — the name of the person who exports it For example, {project} • CONFIDENTIAL • {date} becomes Manor House • CONFIDENTIAL • 2026-06-15.
3. Choose a style:
   • Diagonal (single) — one large line angled across the middle of each page.
   • Diagonal (tiled) — the text repeated diagonally to fill the whole page (hardest to crop out).
   • Footer strip — a small line along the bottom (or top) of every page.
4. Choose a position (center, top, or bottom) and an opacity (how faint or bold the mark is).
5. Save.

The on-screen report previews update to show the watermark as soon as you save, so what you see on screen matches what is exported.

Notes

• The watermark is project-wide — it is not per-report or per-export. Every export from the project carries it while it is enabled.
• Sides exports also keep their separate per-recipient leak-tracing mark when you export a roster; the project watermark sits alongside it.
• Turning the watermark off removes it from all future exports immediately.
